The Vine




















I was invited to "21 at the Bay" in September, a paint-out on Middle Bass Island in Lake Erie. The owner of the B&B where I stayed showed me this 100 year old grape vine, after I had admired his photograph in my room. This is a painting I did sitting in bed, interpreting the photograph.

It reminds me to joyfully bear "much fruit" by putting my stock in the Vine.

One I forgot to post in 2008



The color is not quite right and the painting is out of focus. I need to shoot it again. This was started last winter from the ASA studio on the third floor of Summit ArtSpace. I painted watercolor in near darkness, then added pastel in the studio. "East Market Looking West" was juried in the Artists of Rubber City show at Mocha Maiden in ... May?
